Private Flight Story
Private Flight was founded by Richard Pryor, a seasoned private aviation professional who experienced the frustrations of managing inflight catering firsthand, manual, opaque, and inefficient processes that led to miscommunication, inconsistent standards, and pricing surprises. With deep operational insight and VVIP/UHNW client experience, he envisioned a centralised, technology-driven platform to reduce complexity, improve cost transparency, and raise service standards. That vision became the Private Flight Catering Management Platform, a cloud-based solution that modernises catering workflows while keeping the Operator in control. Now based in Switzerland, Private Flight connects over 2,000 caterers, hotels, and restaurants in 175+ countries and is trusted by government fleets, operators, freelance crew, and cargo carriers. Backed by a global team, Private Flight grows with a culture of professionalism and collaboration, simplifying complexity, empowering operators, controlling costs, and elevating the inflight catering experience.
Our Product
We develop efficient and resilient software and processes that enable our customers to control costs. These processes also improve the consistency and quality of the flight experience for the passenger and crew, further building customer loyalty and crew satisfaction. Following initial research and development, we set out in 2008 to prove the concept by helping customers in one of the industry’s major pain points: inflight catering. Today, Private Flight is recognised as the leader in the aviation catering industry and has shifted catering-related procurement from outdated manual processes to an automated, transparent web-based approach. Having successfully addressed one of the industry's major pain points, we’ve been busy building the most exciting Flight Management Platform for Royal & Government, Management, and Charter companies worldwide. We have great plans and are working on something special. It will be the industry’s platform of choice.
Our Approach
Private Flight runs a sophisticated user-centred design and innovation program where its platform development roadmaps are informed by direct conversations with customers. The focus of the program is to identify and solve opportunities to achieve internal efficiencies, improve business profitability, and deliver great passenger experiences. A core design team employs the latest in agile innovation approaches and customer involvement through feature prototyping and testing. A team of developers then leverages the latest agile software development processes and tools to realise the innovation simply and efficiently. Ultimately, our highest purpose is to transform the passenger experience in the private aviation industry. We believe we can do this while at the same time significantly improving operator efficiency and profitability. We love what we do and are constantly told we relieve headaches and bring real value to our clients and their passengers.
